Privacy Policy for EQCraft

EQCraft ("the app", "we", "our") is a 10-band audio equalizer app for Android. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and your choices. EQCraft does not require an account and does not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifying information to function.

1. Information the app stores on your device

All of your equalizer settings are stored locally on your device only, using Android's standard app storage (SharedPreferences). This includes:

• Your 10-band EQ gain values, preamp level, and loudness setting
• Custom presets you create, rename, or delete
• Sound effect settings (virtualizer, treble enhancer, reverb, 3D surround)
• App preferences such as theme

None of this data is transmitted to us or to any server we control. It is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app.

2. Advertising & Third-Party Services

EQCraft shows ads (a banner ad and an optional rewarded video ad when saving a preset) served through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:

• Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
• General device and app information (device model, OS version, app version, general location derived from IP address, ad interaction events)

This data is collected, processed, and governed independently by Google under its own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for Google's data collection practices. You can review Google's policies and manage your preferences here:

You can opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your device's ad settings (e.g., under Settings > Privacy > Ads, varying by Android version/OEM), or by resetting/deleting your advertising ID.

3. Permissions the app requests, and why

• Modify audio settings — Required to apply the equalizer to system-wide audio output.
• Foreground service (Special use) — Keeps the equalizer active while you use other apps (e.g., music or video players) in the background. This is indicated by a persistent notification while active, which you can dismiss at any time by stopping the service.
• Notifications — Required on Android 13+ to display the persistent foreground-service notification.
• Advertising ID — Used by the Google Mobile Ads SDK as described in Section 2.

EQCraft does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, precise location, storage, or any other sensitive permission beyond what is listed above.

4. Data we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera input, or any audio content you listen to. We do not sell your data to anyone.

5. Children's privacy

EQCraft is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Advertising served through the app is not configured to target child-directed content.

6. User Rights & Data Control

Since all user data and preferences are stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data. You can delete all stored settings and preferences instantly at any time by simply uninstalling the app or clearing the app data through your device's system settings.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time (for example, to reflect new features or changes in legal requirements). Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
